Why This Conversation Matters Now

Overtourism is no longer a local issue — it is a global challenge. Japan sits at the center of this conversation, navigating record-breaking visitor numbers while working to protect the communities and cultures that make it worth visiting in the first place.
Touristship offers a rare perspective: a homegrown, community-rooted approach to changing traveler behavior — not through restriction, but through education, empathy, and action.
Every destination is someone’s home. We believe the world is ready to travel that way.

“Every step of travel begins with touristship.”
